The Distant Barking of Dogs

Synopsis

For one year the film follows 10-year-old Oleg through his daily life in the Eastern Ukraine. Living so close to the frontline the war became omnipresent for him and his grandmother, with whom he is living in the abandoned village Hnutove. The calm shots of Oleg’s relationships and surrounding are put in stark contrast with the rigidity of the conflict. (LH)
