The End of the Line documents the catastrophic effects of uncontrolled overfishing in the Earth's ecosystem. Over two years, the journalist Charles Clover embarks on an investigative journey, in which he tries to make the scale of the crisis: eradication of tuna, jellyfish overpopulation and global famine, clearer. Underlined by interviews with scientists, indigenous fishermen and fisheries officers, the film takes us from the Atlantic coast across the Straits of Gibraltar to the fish markets in Tokyo. Murray's film is a rousing wake up call and a warning at the same time. If we continue fishing like this, it means the end for the majority of marine life in the next 40 years.
