Ebba Sinzinger tells the touching story of a young man who drifts back and forth between languages, countries and people, always with a dull feeling of not really belonging anywhere. At it's center, the film focuses on young Thairet, or “Arnaud”, as his French adoptive parents name him, a Cambodian refugee rescued from a camp in Thailand. Brought to France by his new parents, he moves to Finland, Norway and finally Austria, where he meets his biological parents. They speak Khmer, broken German and have little in common with their son. A stranger to them, Thairet tries to find connection to Cambodia. But in the home of his biological parents, the search for belonging proves to be difficult.
