The documentary shows how people, groups and organizations are struggling to solve one of the worst social, political and economic tragedies of our time: world hunger. Hunger takes us through five countries in order to pose the question of how people live with hunger, and why so many concepts of development policies have failed. From Haiti, where the destitute farmers were lured by the magic words 'free trade' and 'structural adjustment policies', to Kenya, where entire regions have long been dependent on food aid. Fact: Every year ten percent more food is produced than is needed to get everyone fed. So what are the reasons for hunger?
