In a visionary move in 1979, Jimmy Carter installed solar panels on the roof of the White House, only to be taken down in 1986 during the Reagan presidency and, in 1991, reinstalled on the cafeteria roof of an environmentally-minded Unity College learning centre in Maine. In A Road Not Taken, Swiss artists Christina Hemauer and Roman Keller travel back in time, following the route the solar panels and interviewing those involved in their journey and those involved in the oil crisis at the time.
